Saudi Authorities Kill Three Protesters in Qatif

Saudi Arabian authorities arrested Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, a prominent Shi’a scholar and regime critic, this past weekend. Shortly after the announcement of al-Nimr’s arrest, residents of the Qatif region took to the streets in protest to call for his release. They were met with gunfire from security forces, leaving 3 dead and many injured. A Saudi activist published the following photo of the protest, along with the tweet:
