We believe that mankind is endowed with certain inalienable rights, among them freedom of speech, association and expression, and all governments have a fundamental responsibility to protect these liberties.

Moreover, we believe that autocratic regimes which censor the internet and intimidate and imprison online activists are violating basic human rights.

It is incumbent upon free nations to stand up for democratic dissent and freedom of speech throughout the world. Middle Eastern autocrats must cease repression against online activists and allow their citizens to voice differing opinions without fear of reprisal.

We pledge to fight tirelessly for the freedom of democratic online dissidents. We will research and analyze Internet activists, translate and republish their works and highlight repression against this group by authoritarian regimes.

We welcome the participation of all who share our basic ideals.
